Haesook Yoon/ Character sketch First draft/ Tuesday 9 a.m.

Mr. Vincent

201302209 Haesook Yoon

Mr. Vincent was my presentation professor in my university. He taught us not just the presentation skill but other useful skills. His way of teaching was always fun to join in and everybody really participated well in that class. I believe it's not his teaching skill that brought everybody in the class. It was his positive influence at each student. He had a great optimism. He was smiling all the time except when he was listening carefully to someone's presentation.

When the semester just started everyone was horrified to present in front of so many people. Our voices were small and had may fillers and useless gestures. Knowing how we are scared of public speaking he taught us how to relieve ourselves. He put his long and thin arms straight up above his head and breathed deeply. He said it was what the healer in a game called 'wow' did to heal somebody. At that time everyone was laughing and seemed to be relaxed. He had this kind of humor which made others feel comfortable to be with him. When students made mistakes, he told us to practice a lot but also said some mistakes can be 'adorable' because it shows humane qualities of the speaker. By his way of acting and dealing with people, I learned how to speak and not to make the listeners feel offended.

When I meet him in the streets, he says hi with his big smile on his face. Although I am not taking any presentation class now, but I can still remember his presentation tips. When I grow more order and mature, I want to communicate with others like him. I want to make others feel comfortable to be with me.

Mr. Vincent was my presentation professor in my university. He was a tall and skinny man with a great sense of humor. He usually wore shirts and sweaters which made him look more generous. He was a great professor but also a great person to be with.
He taught us not just the presentation skills but also other useful skills. His way of teaching was always fun to join in and everybody really participated well in his class. I believe along with his teaching skill, his positive influence at each student brought everybody in the class. He had a great optimism. He was smiling all the time except when he says “Start your presentation whenever you are ready.” and listens carefully to someone's presentation.
When the semester just started everyone was horrified to present in front of so many people. Our voices were small like a mosquito and had many fillers and useless gestures such as flapping hands or touching our hair. Knowing how we were scared of public speaking he taught us how to relieve ourselves. He put his thin long arms straight up above his head and breathed deeply.
Almost every student who took Mr. Vincent’s class wanted to be an adult like him. His life seemed to be full of fun. He was leading his life as he wanted. He was once a lawyer but now, he is a professor at HUFS teaching language related subjects. Changing jobs from one field to a completely different field must have been difficult but he did so to live a better life. All the students thought he was very brave and blessed for he found what he truly enjoys. Also, he was living a heathy life. He always emphasized the importance of exercising and he seemed to work out a lot.
When I meet him in the streets, he says hi with his big smile on his face. Although I am not taking any presentation class now, I can still remember his presentation tips. When I grow more order and mature, I want to communicate with others like him. I want to make others feel comfortable to be with me. In future, just like Mr. Vincent, I will lead my life to where I aimed and also not losing my health!
